**AutoCrafterAI is a fast AI content generator and blog post writer for WordPress.**
Instantly generate **SEO-optimized articles**, **landing page copy**, and blog drafts

#### Privacy & external services

AutoCrafterAI does not run its own AI. Content generated by the plugin is sent directly
from your WordPress site to whichever AI provider you have configured, using your
own API key. The plugin does not proxy your content through any AutoCrafterAI server.

The plugin uses these external services, and only when you have opted into them:

 * **AI providers** (used only when you have configured a key): OpenAI, Anthropic
   Claude, or Google Gemini. Your prompts and generated content are sent to whichever
   provider you configured. Each provider has its own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy—
   linked below.
 * **No usage tracking or analytics.** The plugin does not phone home for any other
   reason. Deactivating the plugin stops all outbound calls.

## Installation

 1. Upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/plugins/` or install via the WordPress
    Plugins screen.
 2. Activate AutoCrafterAI from the Plugins page.
 3. Go to **AutoCrafterAI  Settings** and add an API key for at least one provider.
    Google Gemini has a free tier that does not require a credit card. The built-in
    Demo Mode works with no API key at all.
 4. Go to **AutoCrafterAI  Generator** and start chatting.
 5. For bulk image alt-text cleanup, visit **AutoCrafterAI  AI Alt Text**.

## FAQ

### How do I use ChatGPT with WordPress?

Install AutoCrafterAI, drop your OpenAI API key into **Settings**, and start chatting
from the **Generator** page. Every response saves as a real WordPress draft with
a title, HTML body, and (optionally) auto-generated schema markup. You can also 
use Claude or Gemini instead of ChatGPT — the workflow is identical.

### Can this plugin generate blog posts automatically?

Yes. Type a prompt on the Generator page and AutoCrafterAI produces a full-length
blog post with a suggested title, semantic HTML structure, and automatic Article
+ FAQ schema. One click opens the draft in Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, WPBakery,
or Beaver Builder — as real editable widgets, not a plain text dump.

### Does it work with Elementor?

Yes. AutoCrafterAI has native Elementor support (Free and Pro editions). Every AI-
generated draft opens as real Elementor widgets — Heading, Text Editor, and Image
widgets rendered with your theme’s typography. Also adds an “AutoCrafterAI” sidebar
panel inside the Elementor editor for inline AI edits (Improve / Shorten / Extend/
Translate / Add CTA) on any text widget.

### Does it work with Divi, WPBakery, and Beaver Builder?

Yes. Same one-click open-in-builder flow works for Divi (real shortcode modules),
WPBakery Page Builder (real elements), Beaver Builder (real rows), and Gutenberg(
real blocks). No plain text block dumps in any of them.

### Do I need an API key to try the plugin?

No. AutoCrafterAI ships with a built-in Demo provider that returns realistic sample
content. You can explore the whole plugin without any key. Google Gemini also has
a real free tier that works without a credit card.

### Which AI providers are supported?

OpenAI (GPT-4o family, GPT-4.1 family), Anthropic Claude (Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 4.6,
Opus 4.7), and Google Gemini (2.5 Flash, 2.5 Pro, 2.0 Flash). All are vision-capable
for alt-text and WooCommerce product descriptions.

### Is there an AI alt text generator for the Media Library?

Yes — it’s a core feature. AutoCrafterAI reads each image with a vision-capable 
AI model and writes accessibility-friendly alt text under 160 characters. Works 
one image at a time from a Media Library row action, in bulk from the AI Alt Text
page, or automatically on upload (Pro).

### Does it help with AI SEO?

Yes. Every generated post ships with Article schema, FAQPage schema when the AI 
writes a FAQ section, and HowTo schema for step-based content. The **AEO Engine**
scores content 0-100 for signals AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google 
AI Overviews) look for when picking sources to cite. **AI internal linking** finds
the best link candidates from your existing published posts.

### Where are my API keys stored?

In your WordPress database (`wp_options`), masked in the UI so they are not visible
on screen. They never leave your server except when the plugin makes a direct HTTPS
call to whichever provider you configured.

### Does the plugin send my content anywhere besides the AI provider?

No. AutoCrafterAI does not have a content server. All AI calls go directly from 
your WordPress site to whichever provider you selected for that chat.

### Does it work with my page builder?

Yes. Every generation saves clean semantic HTML that works in any editor. The plugin
also builds native widgets in Gutenberg, Elementor (Free and Pro), Divi, WPBakery,
and Beaver Builder.

### What is AEO Mode?

AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization — writing content that gets sourced by
ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. The AEO Engine scores your content
and suggests small edits that make it citation-friendly for AI search.

### Can I use it on a client site under EU / GDPR rules?

Yes. Turn on EU Mode in Settings and OpenAI calls route through the EU-resident 
endpoint.

### What happens if I uninstall the plugin?

Uninstall removes the plugin’s custom tables, options, transients, cron events, 
and per-user counters. Your WordPress posts are kept — those are real WP posts that
belong to you.

### Is the source code available?

Yes. The plugin is GPL v2 or later. You can inspect and modify it freely.

### How does the Token Usage Meter work?

Every time you make an AI call, the plugin captures the exact token count from the
provider’s response (OpenAI returns `prompt_tokens` + `completion_tokens`; Anthropic
returns `input_tokens` + `output_tokens`; Google returns `promptTokenCount` + `candidatesTokenCount`).
The plugin multiplies by the current per-model pricing and shows the running monthly
total + per-model breakdown on the Dashboard. All cost goes directly to your AI 
provider on your key.

### Does Content Refresh delete my old posts?

No. It rewrites the post content in place — URL, slug, comments, categories, tags,
featured image, SEO meta, and analytics history are all preserved. A `_nsai_refreshed_at`
meta key prevents the same post from being surfaced again next month.
